After being incredibly inconsistent for a while, I’m going to give a tentative “I’m back!”. I’ve wanted to get back into blogging for weeks now but I just haven’t been feeling like myself. I haven’t felt like I had anything to say. I just wasn’t fully here. But after a few weeks of therapy, which is still on going, and taking care of some more pressing health issues– like migraines!– I think I can say that I’m finally able to come back.
With that, I wanted to make sure I had something to share for the first of May. So that means that I’m going to keep it kind of simple while I’ll get into blog planning mode. Today, that means going over some of my favorite things from the last few months!
Zoella x Colourpop Brunch Date Shadow Palette ($18)– This palette took a little bit of time to grow on me but now it is my daily go to. The palette features mostly neutral colors with a pop of matte blue. There are a mix of matte shades and shimmers, all of which are super easy to work with. My go to shadows in this palette at the moment are maple syrup, french toast, champagne toast, cinnamon sugar, and sunny side up.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Palette ($45)– I told myself that I wasn’t going to get this palette. But I don’t have a ton of self control and all of the EOTD (Eye Of The Day) got to me and convinced me that I should get this palette. All I can say is that it is just fun to plat with. There are a few neutral shades and then a bunch of fun colors, making it a great palette to bring on vacation if you want to have a good mix on one place. Check out this look I did for Easter using only the Riviera palette for my eye look.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Highlighter in Snowflake ($25)- This highlighter is just stunning. That’s all I have to say.
Colourpop BYOP Sale– This is one of the best deals online if you’re a make up junkie. I built my own 24 shadow palette for $50 (normally $118) and I love it. With the colors I picked to create my personal palette, I can do pretty much any look. I can be super colorful (see picture below) or keep it neutral.
I’m a bit behind in my reading right now but here is my favorite book for the year so far!
The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown ($9.60)- This book was so helpful for me as I started my therapy journey. I highly recommend it for any other perfectionists out there or for anyone who is scared of being vulnerable.
Bonding (Netflix)– I saw an ad for this show on Netflix and then Tim told me he had watched an episode so then I started it… and finished it in one night. It wasn’t my usual kind of show that I like to watch but this turned out to be a good choice. Bonding follows Trish, a grad student who is also a dominatrix, and her former gay best friend, Pete. The 17 minute episodes take you through some of their ups and downs and it is fairly comical. If you’re looking for something quick, I highly recommend this show!
There has been a lot of great music out there lately!
