January 2019

This month just got away from me. Between work, life, being sick, and everything else, January was just a lot. Yet despite the numerous times I felt overwhelmed throughout this month, I now feel really good about heading into February. Especially since I get to kick off the month with a girls weekend trip to Boston!

Now, I usually do a monthly favorites post at the end of each month. This year, I’ve decided to switch over to monthly reviews to go over favorites, as always, along with goals, and to talk more openly about the way that the month went– aside from specific posts.


Album: Glory Sound Prep by Jon Bellion (November 2018)
I am loving this album right now. It gives me the mix in sounds that I have been craving lately while also giving me what I can only call emotional satisfaction.

Beauty: Tarte Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner ($24)
I am in love with this eyeliner. Lately, I’ve been so busy that I don’t have time to do a full eye look. This eyeliner gives me that high impact look that I want with no bleeding or smudging. It is perfect. Not to mention that if you want to go from day to night in a few swipes, you can just apply the pencil side of this liner to your waterline. Perfect.

Entertainment: Fyre Fraud and Fyre documentaries
Sometimes you just want to watch the world burn. Sorry, sometimes you just want to watch certain cultural touch points burn. Hulu and Netflix have created two fascinating documentaries about one of the biggest scams to ever hit social media culture. At least recently.

Goal Check In: Month 1

Read 50 Books
Clearly, I didn’t read 50 books YET! I am well on my way to my goal for 2019. This month, I’ve read six books and started on book seven. Not too bad for being super busy!

Travel More
This has been a bit difficult so far since I’m handling some financial start of the year stuff. But I’m kicking off February with a girls weekend in Boston! So that totally counts. Start small and go big.

Write Everyday
I’m working on it. Out of seven days in a week I’m at like four out of seven for the most part.

Exercise at Least Three Days a Week
