As the last part of this week’s gifting series, I couldn’t forget the significant others. The theme for these gifts is experiences over things. Sometimes it is better to gift things to do instead, well, things.
For the Adventurous Couple
Winter Wonderland Getaway– No matter if you’re skiers, hikers, or just love the snow, a winter getaway could be just what Santa ordered. Plan a long weekend away to somewhere snowy. Try renting a house or a condo to cut down on costs– both for housing a food. Plan some outdoor activities before relaxing in your temporary home.
Fly Away– If you can swing it together, fly somewhere together. Try a destination that neither have you have been to before for that something extra special.
Dreaming of Summer- Festival season is months away but as lineups start being released (or at least teased) and passes become available, the two of you could gift the experience of a lifetime together. Many festivals do discounted ticket rates if you order before they release the line up for the year.
For the Couple Who Can’t Wait
New Years Getaway- So you don’t want to wait until the summer to give the gift of an experience. Look no further than New Years Eve! Try booking a nice hotel and going out for the night. Live in the Northeast of the US? Try heading down to NYC for the night or hitting one of the casinos for their parties.
Material Girl/Boy- Be traditional and give an actual gift. Try your best to find something that your SO will love. Jewelry, sunglasses, clothes, or gift cards are always nice to get.
Dinner Date– Much like going out for a birthday, try going out to a nice dinner for your Christmas gift. Dress up, maybe go to a show, and enjoy the night out together. If you’ve been together for a while, this is your chance to sweep the other person off their feet. Or really dig in with the kind of couple you are and get in your favorite loungewear and order take out!
For the Couple Who is Just Keeping it Simple
Movie Passes- Plan ahead for a few date nights and purchase some movie passes for you and your SO to enjoy together. Consider even getting a membership to your local theater chain for the year so that you can get discounts, $5 tickets, or whatever else the deals may include. There’s nothing like a date night at the movies!
Date Box- Try the Date Box subscription and have a few curated at home dates sent right to your front door. (Review coming soon from Tim and I!).
What are your go to gifts to show your love to your significant other during the holidays?
