The last few days have been a lot for me. I can’t fully explain why but it has been an emotional roller coaster. So today I decided to focus on self care. After a restless night where I kept waking up every two hours, I needed to just take it easy and do things that make me happy and feel good.
I started the day with a homemade breakfast and mimosas with with parents. It had been a while since I sat down with them and had breakfast together.
After breakfast, I took the dog for a walk. It had been a while since he had gone for a good hike and sometimes I just need to go out into nature alone. I took Fluff, my 17 year old toy poodle, to the local reservoir and did a nice long and windy walk.
I spent the afternoon running some errands, watching movies, and doing my nails. These were all things that I needed to do. Even if they don’t solve all of my problems from earlier, they made me recenter and feel just a bit better.
