Book Talk: 20 Questions About My Reading Habits

So life has been kind of crazy lately so today you’re getting another TAG. This time, I’m answering twenty questions about my reading habits. Or at least the kinds of books that I enjoy reading. You can look for some more book themed content next month since October is National Book Month! For today though, lets start chatting about what I enjoy in a book. In case you’re looking for some questions to answer, I found this set of questions here.

  1. How many books is too many books in a book series? Anything over 10.
  2. How do you feel about cliffhangers? If they are done right and don’t complicate the ending of a book on its own, even if it is part of a series, they are fine. If an author just adds it to make you buy the next book, even if the book wasn’t a series originally, then blah. Not a huge fan.
  3. Hardcopy or paperback? Depends. Paperbacks are easier to carry around but hardcovers are just so pretty and look so nice on a bookshelf.
  4. Favorite Book? Elsewhere by Gabriel Zevin
  5. Least Favorite Book? Wuthering Heights. Emily Bronte can suck it.
  6. Love triangles, yes or no? At this point, no. They are so overdone.
  7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish? Thunderhead, the second book in the Scythe series. As hard as I tried, I just couldn’t finish it.
  8. A book you’re currently reading? Wicked: Witch and Curse by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie
  9. Last book you recommended to someone? No clue….
  10. Oldest book you’ve read? Recently, Berlin Stories by Christopher Isherwood, 1945
  11. Newest book you’ve read? Not sure. I’ve been doing a lot of rereading lately and my newer books are piling up…
  12. Favorite author? Cliche, I know, but JK Rowling
  13. Buying or borrowing books? Buying! I love growing my collection and building my personal library. I keep telling my boyfriend that if we move in together, we’re going to need a huge bookcase. And we’re going to have the weirdest collection. He has a ton of science and philosophy books and I have everything from YA to a Shakespeare folio and political memoirs.
  14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love? Wuthering HeightsAt least everyone loves it if you’re an English Major in college…
  15. Bookmarks or dog-ears? Dog-ears. It makes a book look read and well loved.
  16. A book you can always reread? Elsewhere
  17. Can you read while hearing music? Yes!
  18. One POV or multiple POVs? Both, doesn’t matter to me!
  19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days? Depends on my schedule and the book.
  20. (I added this one) Can you read multiple books at once or do you have to focus on one? I try to focus on one but often I’m at different points in two or three and switch between them during the day or week.
