Summer Reading List

One of my goals for 2018 was to read twelve books by the end of the year. Now, almost at the end of June, it looks like I’ll be able to surpass that goal seeing as I have already read eight books. That might not sound like a lot but when you didn’t have time to read at all while in college, eight in six months is a lot. Even if a few were short poetry books. It is just about summer now and that mean, in theory, more opportunities for reading. Reading outdoors. Reading at the beach. Reading. Reading. Reading. Here is a list of some of the books on my reading list this summer.

#Never Again by David Hogg & Lauren Hogg

Written by two Parkland, Florida shooting survivors, #Never Again examines what happened that day at Stoneman-Douglas High School and how these teenagers have become leaders in a movement to save their lives.  The Hoggs speak truth to power and give a guide to a movement that is saying enough is enough.

Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

Well, I’ve read all of John Green’s other books so of course I need to read this one! Turtleis about a girl named Ava’s pursuit of a fugitive billionaire. Alright, interesting. You’ve caught my attention.

You are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero

This book has been on my list for a few years now but I always back out of buying it to read. This summer, I’m actually gonna get to it! I’m not usually into “self-help” books but hey, any book with a swear word in the title is the right “help” book for me!

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson

See above for why.
