We got hit with another nor’easter here in Connecticut yesterday that dropped a lot of snow and wiped out any hopes that spring is right around the corner. Then again, the weather changes so fast around here that we could get a couple of 60 degree days that’ll get rid of all of this snow in a few days. One can dream though. To help with the cooped up blues and to help think warm thoughts, here are a few things that I’m looking forward to.
As I mentioned in my Short Term Goals & Looking Forward blog, I’m heading to LA for a few days in May. I’ve never been to California so I’m really looking froward to checking off another state off of my list.
Some of my current ideas for what I’m hoping to do in Cali are:
- Go to the Griffith Observatory
- Explore The Last Bookstore
- See the Infinity Mirrored Room at the Broad
Been to LA? What are your favorite things to do there? Make sure to share your recommendations in the comments.
Being More Involved
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been giving myself more opportunities to be involved and make positive changes. Specifically, I’ve been working on starting an alumni network in my home state for my alma mater. It has been a huge undertaking (at least for me who is very introverted and not normally big into going outside of my comfort zone) but I’m so happy I started doing this. I’ve been able to start networking with other UNH Wildcats in the area and have really been putting my organizational skills to the test. Plus it has been a ton of fun.
These last few weeks of winter have been brutal. Here in Connecticut, I’ve been hit with back to back Nor’easters, it’s been fairly cold, and when it isn’t snowing it’s raining. It sucks. I can’t wait for spring to finally work its way in so I can get outside more! I love getting to go hiking, camping, and just going for nature walks. I can do most of those in the snow but everything is just so much better when it is warmer out.
What are you looking forward to? Let me know in the comments!
