Blogmas Day 21: The Last Minute Gift Guide

With only four more sleeps until Christmas, it is scramble time for the last minute shopper. You have three more days to shop to make sure that you get everything you need to put under the tree. The chanced of placing an online order and having it delivered on time are slim to none so now you’re gonna have to brave the stores and come up with some clever gifts based off of the always dreaded “reject” shelves. Okay, there are definitely some great items still on the shelves but, depending on what store you go to, you’re gonna have to sift through a lot of rejects first. Here is a series of last minute gift ideas to hopefully inspire you!

$10 and Under

This gift is perfect for the tea, hot chocolate, or coffee drinker in your life. You can head into your local Target (or similar store) and pick up everything you need for this gift. Start off with the mug. Right now, you can get a Christmas themed mug for $2.43. They have other mugs available from $2.99 to $7 (not bad!). From there, head into their holiday shop and pick out some hot chocolate! They have various different options and flavors, anywhere from $1.00 to about $6. Also around the store they have ground coffee options from $4.99 to $7.99 and tea options $3 and up. While you’re there, you can even pick up a nice gift box for around $5 to pack up your gifts in. Talk about one stop shopping!

The Early Reader

If you have small children in your family, head on over to your local bookstore and pick out a board book or two. If you were an avid reader as a child, find your favorite book and share it with the next generation. At Barnes and Noble right now, you can pick up The Night Before Christmas for $4.99; The Poky Little Puppy for $3.14 (this was one of my favorite’s growing up); Hop on Pop for $3.97; and many more Dr. Suess, Golden Books, and more for under $5 each! If you want to go over the $10 limit of this section, you can pair some of these books with a stuffed animal version of the main character in many cases! Now you’re little reader can hold the Poky Puppy while you read them the story.

This close to Christmas, many stores like Macy’s, Target, Michael’s, and more will have nice ornaments for under $10. Walk through and take a look. See if you can find an ornament that fits the person who you are gifting it too. Find a funny one or a frame and share a favorite moment from the year. There are all sorts of options out there.

Pick a destination that your recipient will be going to or that they live near and pick out a few attractions. You can pre-pay for some of their attractions and help them get ahead in the line at a few! This one will most likely take you well over the $25 mark but your discounts go up for each attraction you add to the card!
